Social support can help you to maintain an active social life by having a visit in the home or by arranging visits and outings in the community. It’s more than just shopping! It can be:

  • A walk along the beach
  • Coffee with a friend
  • Visit to the markets
  • Visit to the local cinema (always nice to have someone to watch a movie with)
  • Assist you to access support groups and recreational activities, i.e. Tai Chi, Heart-moves, Lungs In Action and Light Pace Aqua
  • Specialised shopping i.e. clothes, presents, house etc

It can be any activity that supports you to find a place where you feel supported.

Social support can help to prevent loneliness and isolation. If you are feeling lonely, may be a little isolated and not sure how to get involved in social activities then call the office to find out more on (07) 5527 8011.
