What is In‑home Nursing Care?
In-home nursing care provides essential clinical support to help you manage and monitor your health at home. This may include wound care, catheter care, health assessments, and ongoing monitoring of medical conditions. Our nurses can also help you understand your treatment, improve self-management, and connect you with specialist services when needed.

What’s not included under In-home Nursing Care.
While In‑home Nursing Care is funded under My Aged Care, some medical costs are not included in your aged care package, such as:
- GP and specialist visits – these remain funded through Medicare
- Hospital treatments
- Medications and prescriptions
- Services better funded through other health programs (e.g., specialist palliative care teams)

Who provides the Nursing Care?
Cura’s nursing team includes Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Nursing Assistants who work under clinical supervision. All care is delivered by qualified professionals experienced in supporting older people at home.
Can Nursing Care help after a hospital stay or surgery?
Yes. Our nurses can support your recovery after an operation or hospital stay by monitoring your health, managing dressings, assisting with medications and helping you regain strength and independence.
Are GP visits, medications or specialist appointments included?
No. GP consultations, specialist appointments, hospital treatments, medications and prescriptions are funded through Medicare or other health programs.
How do I access nursing care through My Aged Care?
Your eligibility is assessed through My Aged Care. Nursing care can be funded through CHSP, the Support at Home program, Short‑Term Restorative Care (STRC), or privately. If you’re unsure where to start, our team can guide you through the assessment and referral process.
