Multicultural Aged Care Support.
Care that honours your culture, language and life story.
Every person carries a rich story shaped by culture, language, family and lived experience.
On the Gold Coast, more than 100,000 seniors aged 65+ come from many different cultural backgrounds, and across Queensland, 13.9% of people over 50 identify as Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD).
These communities remind us of something important:
Culturally safe aged care is not an added extra — it is essential to dignity, respect and belonging.
A Foundation Of Multiculturalism.
As the sister brand of Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast (MCCGC), Cura Aged Care is built on a long history of supporting diverse communities. This foundation gives us a deep, genuine understanding of what culturally respectful care looks and feels like.
Our approach is gentle, person-centred and grounded in understanding. We support you in ways that feel familiar, meaningful and aligned with who you are — your culture, your language, your faith and your life journey.
Why Multicultural Aged Care Matters.
Leading with diversity, unity & inclusivity.
Culture influences how we communicate, how we make decisions, what brings us comfort and what helps us feel safe. For many older people, especially those from CALD backgrounds, culturally aligned care can make the difference between feeling isolated and feeling understood.
At Cura, we take the time to learn what matters to you. We honour your language, traditions, beliefs, family roles and community connections. We walk beside you with compassion, clarity and respect — ensuring your care feels familiar, supportive and culturally safe.
Our Multicultural Service Offering.
Cura’s multicultural aged care support is grounded in lived experience. Our team represents more than 65 nationalities, bringing empathy, cultural insight and genuine understanding to the care they provide.
We work closely with cultural organisations, Elders, faith groups and community leaders to ensure your care remains connected to your community and respectful of your identity.

Language Support.
Clear communication is essential for safe, confident care. Many of our staff speak multiple languages, helping you feel comfortable and understood during conversations about your health and wellbeing.
We can often provide information in your preferred language and arrange interpreter support for assessments, appointments and care planning. Please note: Cura staff cannot act as interpreters. You can access the Telephone Interpreter Service (TIS) by calling 13 14 50 and we can help coordinate this when needed.
Culturally Sensitive Care.
Culturally sensitive care means recognising that your culture shapes how you live, communicate and make decisions. Our team takes the time to understand your values, beliefs and traditions so your care feels safe, familiar and respectful.
We honour preferences around food, communication, gender, family involvement and spiritual or cultural practices. We also work closely with your loved ones and community supports to ensure your care reflects what matters most to you.
Translated Resources.
Having information in your own language can make a meaningful difference to how supported and confident you feel. Cura provides a range of translated materials to help you understand your care options clearly.
If you cannot find what you need, our team will help connect you with someone who speaks your language or understands your cultural background. We are here to ensure you feel informed, respected and supported.
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Assistance.
Cura acknowledges the unique cultural identities, histories and strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We work respectfully with Elders, families and community organisations to ensure care is culturally safe, trauma‑informed and grounded in connection to Country, culture and community.
We can help you access culturally appropriate health services, community programs and supports that honour your identity and wellbeing.
Cultural Activities & Community Engagement.
Connection to culture and community plays an important role in emotional wellbeing. At our Wellness Centre, we host a range of cultural activities and celebrations that bring people together.
These gatherings may include traditional foods, music, dance, storytelling, art and opportunities to speak your language with others. These programs help reduce isolation, build friendships and create a welcoming, inclusive community where every culture is celebrated.
