FAQ's.

What are Everyday Living supports?

Everyday Living supports are practical services, like cleaning, gardening, home maintenance, and meal help, that make it easier to stay safe and comfortable at home.

Yes. To access government‑funded support, you’ll need a My Aged Care assessment. You can also choose to pay privately if you prefer to start sooner.

Everyday Living supports are designed for older Australians who would benefit from a little extra help to stay independent at home. You may find these services helpful if:

  • you need support maintaining your garden
  • you find home maintenance tasks difficult
  • you’d like help with essential cleaning or household chores
  • you need assistance with grocery shopping or preparing meals

These services can be provided under the CHSP [link to CHSP page] or Support at Home program [link – Support at Home page] and are focused on helping you live well in your own home.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Special circumstances: People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness may also be eligible form 50.
  • need help with daily tasks in or around the home
  • have been assessed through My Aged Care or wish to access services privately

Your supports are based on your assessed needs and your personal preferences as outlined in your My Aged Care Support Plan. As long as you have a relevant My Aged Care (MAC) approval you can choose the services that best help you stay independent at home.

How to Access Government Funding.

To access government‑funded Everyday Living supports, you’ll need to register with My Aged Care and arrange an assessment.

There are no income tests for eligibility, but your income may influence the fees you contribute.
