Aged Care Respite on the Gold Coast

Caring for a loved one can be a demanding and challenging responsibility, both physically and emotionally. Respite care can provide temporary relief and support to both seniors and their caregivers. Our respite care services are designed to ensure that seniors receive the care they need while allowing their carers to take a well-deserved break.

Our Benefits:

How Do Aged Care Respite Services Work?

Our respite care is based on the Gold Coast and in the surrounding regions including the Sunshine Coast. It ensures care for seniors while carers get a short break. During respite care, seniors are provided with professional and compassionate care by our experienced team, either at home or at one of our Wellness Centres.

Our dedicated care professionals are trained to assist with daily activities, medication management, companionship, and other essential care needs. They ensure that seniors receive personalised attention and support in a safe and comfortable environment.

Respite care offers much-needed relief to caregivers who may be experiencing physical, emotional, or mental fatigue. It provides carers a moment to rest, recharge, and attend to their own lives, knowing that their loved ones are in capable hands. Taking time off from caregiving responsibilities is so important for preventing burnout and maintaining a healthy balance in each carer’s life.

We offer two respite care options to accommodate different preferences and care needs. This includes in-home respite care, where our care professionals visit the senior’s home to provide assistance and support.

It also includes facility-based respite care for the elderly. With this option, seniors can visit one of our Wellness Centres and take part in fun activities and events. We can also arrange transport options for our seniors to go to and from the centres. Our goal is to ensure that both seniors and caregivers feel comfortable with these respite care arrangements.

Our dedicated staff have specialised care dealing with seniors who need a little extra care, such as those with dementia, or who need additional physical support.

A Home Care Package is a government-funded program aimed at helping older Australians maintain their well-being, safety, and independence within their own homes. The funding is allocated to a Service Provider, such as CÜRA, to organise a tailored package of care services to meet your specific needs. There are different levels of packages available to address varying care requirements. To learn more about these packages, contact our team.

To determine your eligibility for a Home Care Package, you must first register with the Government’s My Aged Care program. Alternatively, you can contact us, and we can assist you in starting the process. The My Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) will assess various factors, including your age and the level of support you need, to determine your eligibility for a Home Care Package.

The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is designed to help senior Australians access entry-level support services at a subsidised cost, enabling them to live independently and safely in their own homes. These services can range from community respite to in home services. It’s important to note that CHSP services are often provided before being assigned a Home Care Package.

No, it’s not possible to simultaneously utilise both CHSP and a Home Care Package (HCP). When you accept your Home Care Package, CHSP services will conclude, and your new services will be covered by your Home Care Package without the need to pay an additional subsidy.

We highly recommend CÜRA as a Home Care Provider. We had a very unfortunate time with our first provider and after careful consideration we joined CÜRA and have had a wonderful relationship with them for the past 2 years. The greatest bliss for us has been the fact that we have one continuous carer, Robin, who is trustworthy and so caring of Dot.
