Respite Care FAQs

Our respite carers at Cura Aged Care possess at a minimum, a Cert III qualification in Aged Care or Home and Community Care. They are also required to have a National Police Check, as well as current First Aid and CPR certifications. Upon commencing their employment, all staff sign off on a Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement to uphold our high standards of care and professionalism.

To ensure the highest level of service, we have a comprehensive orientation process for all new staff members. This includes detailed training on our care protocols and values. Additionally, we provide ongoing training opportunities for continuous professional development, ensuring our carers remain up-to-date with the latest best practices in aged care. This commitment to training and development ensures that our team is well-equipped to provide compassionate and skilled care to all our clients.

Cura Aged Care offers flexible respite care services tailored to your needs. You can arrange for respite care for as little as 1 hour, or for longer periods such as several days if required. Whether you need a one-time break or ongoing support, our services are designed to accommodate your schedule. We aim to provide caregivers with the rest they need while ensuring consistent, high-quality care for their loved ones.

While we recommend scheduling respite care in advance to ensure availability, we understand that emergencies and unexpected situations can arise. Cura strives to be as flexible as possible and can often accommodate short-notice requests. Please contact us directly to discuss your immediate needs, and we will do our best to arrange care quickly and efficiently to support you during urgent times.

Deciding if respite care is right for your family involves evaluating the needs and circumstances of both the caregiver and the care recipient. If you, as a caregiver, are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or in need of time to attend to personal matters, respite care can provide crucial relief. It allows caregivers to take a break, knowing their loved ones are receiving professional and compassionate care. Additionally, respite care is beneficial if the senior in your care could benefit from social interaction, structured activities, or a change in routine. Contact us for a consultation to discuss your situation in detail and help you determine if respite care is the best solution for your family.

Kevin & Dot

We highly recommend Cura Aged Care as a Home Care Provider. We had a very unfortunate time with our first provider and after careful consideration we joined Cura and have had a wonderful relationship with them for the past 2 years. The greatest bliss for us has been the fact that we have one continuous carer, Robin, who is trustworthy and so caring of Dot.
