About the role:

This position will be to provide assistance to the Employment & Training team with operational tasks and duties, while studying towards a Certificate III in Business, to engage in on-the-job experience, and develop through learning opportunities.

We are looking for a motivated Cook to join our team on a casual basis. If you are looking for work-life balance, this is a great opportunity. Whilst Wellness Centre shifts will be generally weekdays 7am – 2pm, your skills will also be required preparing for functions hosted in the Centre. You will be required to prepare food items, catering, and grazing menus, basic baking such as brownies and cookies, as well as stock control and some cleaning. An eye for detail in food presentation and portioning is essential.

The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities and many more:

  • Assist with planning and preparation of meals for in-house day respite services at the Wellness Centre.
  • Confidently cater to clients with special dietary requirements, including allergies, texture preferences, and other specific needs.
  • Assess food products to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.
  • Support the maintenance of high service standards in alignment with established guidelines.
  • Identify, develop, and promote business growth opportunities to both existing and potential clients.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety protocols, kitchen cleanliness, and hygiene practices in cooking areas.

Your responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of resources, industry updates, and upskilling to support the delivery of evidence-based best practices in home and community care, NDIS, and community services.
  • Provide clinical content, input, and review for the design and delivery of resources and training to ensure services are clinically sound. Contribute to the development of a Clinical Framework, relevant accreditations, and quality assurance as per relevant standards.
  • Work with the Leadership Team on specific projects and organisational changes, such as quality improvement initiatives and new workflows, and ensure sustainable growth of our clinical services in alignment with organisational strategic initiatives.
  • Develop training or toolbox sessions on current clinical approaches in Aged Care, NDIS, and Community Services to support the organisation and encourage enhancements in service practice and delivery.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of continuous quality improvement across the workforce, with inclusive service responses in consideration for CALD communities and clients.
  • Maintain professional certification and accreditation and undertake professional practice, professional development, and/or research in order to maintain currency in existing skills and knowledge and to maintain currency of knowledge with new developments across relevant industries.

As a Cura Aged Care In-Home Domestic Worker, you will help our customers live a better quality life in their own homes by supporting them with household cleaning, washing, preparing food, running errands (groceries & retail shopping), and social interaction. You’ll be supporting our customers’ wellbeing and independence by ensuring they have clean homes and good company.
