Social Work & Counselling

Maintaining seniors’ emotional health and wellbeing is crucial for improving their overall quality of life. Many seniors experience feelings of loneliness and depression, which can be due to grief, loss or illness. Unfortunately, many seniors still hold stigmas when it comes to mental health. As a result, some of them struggle to seek the help they need.

We have dedicated Social Workers on site who work in collaboration with our Care Workers and are highly experienced in aged care settings. They are committed to providing holistic care, advocacy, and guidance to seniors, helping them navigate life’s challenges and enhance their emotional wellbeing.

Our Benefits:

How Can Aged Care Counselling Help You?

Some of our seniors may be facing depression from past trauma, while others are experiencing new issues or stresses in their life. Our Social Workers can support seniors with Aged Care Counselling, helping them work through grief, trauma, or other problems they may be facing.

Our Social Workers can also act as aged care advocates, assisting seniors to access appropriate services and resources. They can provide practical assistance with navigating the healthcare system, making referrals to external support services, and ensuring seniors have the information to make informed choices in their lives.

Emotional Assistance At Home

Our Social Workers are trained in providing individual aged care counselling sessions to address a wide range of emotional concerns. Whether it’s managing grief and loss, navigating life transitions, coping with stress or anxiety, or improving self-esteem and resilience, our social workers offer a supportive and confidential space for seniors to express their feelings, explore coping strategies, and improve their emotional wellbeing.

We highly recommend Cura Aged Care as a Home Care Provider. We had a very unfortunate time with our first provider and after careful consideration we joined Cura and have had a wonderful relationship with them for the past 2 years. The greatest bliss for us has been the fact that we have one continuous carer, Robin, who is trustworthy and so caring of Dot.
